1. Overview

These terms govern your use of the AU/NZ Entertainment Laser Safety Officer (LSO) training course and Operator Induction course, accessible at lsocourse.zone.net.au and lasers.co.nz. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms.

2. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate information when registering.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • One account per person. Accounts are non-transferable.
  • You must verify your email address before accessing course content.

3. Course Access and Enrollment

  • Enrollment grants access to course materials for 24 months from the date of enrollment.
  • Course content may be updated at any time to reflect changes in standards, regulations, or best practice.
  • Module 1 of each course is available without registration as a free preview.

4. Examinations and Certification

  • The LSO Certification exam draws 65 questions from a question bank. A score of 75% or higher is required to pass.
  • You are allowed 3 exam attempts per enrollment, with a 48-hour cooling period between attempts. Additional attempts may be granted at the discretion of the administrator.
  • You must upload a valid photo ID before attempting the exam. This is used to verify your identity and is stored securely.
  • You must complete the exam independently. Use of unauthorised assistance, sharing of exam questions, or any form of academic dishonesty will result in revocation of your certificate and account suspension.
  • Certificates are issued upon successful completion and can be verified publicly via the graduates page.

5. Certificate Validity

  • Certificates attest to successful completion of the training course content as at the date of issue.
  • This course is aligned with AS/NZS IEC 60825.3:2022. It is a training program, not a government-issued licence or accreditation.
  • Employers and regulators may have additional requirements beyond this course. Holding this certificate does not guarantee compliance with all applicable regulations in your jurisdiction.
  • Certificates may be revoked if obtained through dishonest means.

6. Intellectual Property

All course content, including text, quizzes, exam questions, diagrams, and audio, is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or share course materials or exam questions without written permission.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account with others or allow others to take the exam on your behalf.
  • Copy, screenshot, or distribute exam questions.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, database, or admin functions.
  • Use automated tools to scrape course content.

8. Limitation of Liability

This course is provided for educational purposes. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy and alignment with AS/NZS IEC 60825.3:2022, the course operators accept no liability for errors or omissions in course content, or for any loss, injury, or damage arising from reliance on the training provided. Laser safety is ultimately the responsibility of the individual operator, LSO, and responsible person at each event.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including cases of academic dishonesty, abuse, or unauthorised access. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting apps@zone.net.au.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
